for the forum

hi all,
i finally ran up what seems to be a OS corruption problem with my 9.10 install.
i had earlier deleted the top panel preferring to use only the bottom one. however, i had made a new panel on the top with links to 5 programs - firefox, force quit, the brightness applet, and OO word processor. i was regularly using this as a shortcut. i had also made adjustments to basic settings such as the length and width of the panel, enabled the auto hide function, and unchecked the expand button.
after some time i noticed that with some fresh boot ups the top panel would just not come up. however, it almost always did when i restarted the comp. soon however, i just vanished into thin air! and i have not seen a trace of it since.
i now use only the bottom panel with which i have not had any problems.
so, is the disappearance of the top panel indicate any major problems like OS corruption etc or is it perhaps a minor error of some sort ?
thanks !
