Does anyone know how to change the default layout of icons on the Desktop in Gnome?
Here's what my desktop looks like now:

As you can see, my lovely Docky dock is partly obscuring the icons on my desktop. Could anyone tell me how to change it so icons automatically display on the right side of the desktop, a la Mac OSX? i.e. so when I click "clean up by name" or "auto-arrange", icons on the desktop are arranged like this:

Thanks in advance,
Cullen

P.S. WTF, screenshot capture. why is that window in there dammit

set your screenshot delay to 1 second and maybe just grab and move your desktop icons ?

Thanks for the tip on the screenshot delay, I didn't know I could do that. That should help.

re: icons,
That's a good idea, but it's actually what I have been doing for a while--I'm trying to figure out a way to not have to drag my icons manually every time, i.e. my system does it automatically. I am at a loss!

my desktop icons stay where i put them. navigate to here and see if auto-save is checked.
