I just installed Ubuntu 10.04 with Wubi. During the installation, I ran into some error and had to try again, this time selecting Skip ACPI (or something similar) in the boot menu. Ubuntu seemed to install fine.
My problem is that whenever I use Ubuntu, my computer starts stuttering every 2 seconds- whether I'm watching video, listening to audio, or just moving my mouse. Very frustrating and I don't ever want to go back to Windows :(
I have the latest drivers for my graphics card, and I've tried with an ATI and an nVidia and get the same problem.

specs:
Asus P5GD1 mobo
Intel LGA775 Pentium 4 CPU
nVidia GT 220
3 gb DDR
