I am new to Ubuntu and I just installed 10.04 on my machine. I wanted to install JDK 6 so I downloaded the package and tried to install it, but I got the error message saying :

error while loading shared libraries: libstdc++.so.5: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

I tried installing package libstdc++5_3.3.6-18_amd64, but that did not do the job. I tried installing other packages, but this one seems to be the latest. Could someone please help me out here.

Thanks!
