Updating live session prior to installing (10.04)

Is there any reason to update a live session prior to actually installing? Are there any benefits (ie. potentially smoother install process, less or no need to update after install, etc)?

I cannot think of anyways to do this since the install is done off of the CD image which cant or atleast shouldnt have the ability to be modified. one thing you can do though in case you are wanting to be able to do multiple installs without having to run the updates everytime is to do a clean install, then install the updates, then finally created a remastered install/live cd with the installed updates. you can do this using remastersys.
