If you're looking to develop Java applications, you'll need the JDK (Java Development Kit). To download Sun's Java 6 JDK, type this into Terminal:

sudo apt-get install sun-java6-jdk

I would just install the JDK anyway. But that's just me.

I want to know what are the differences between JDK nd SDK?

I believe it's just the name. I recall Sun previously using the name SDK for their Java developers package.
