Ok, ive installed Ubuntu 10.04 now using "Erase entire HD" option 5 times! Everything works fine until i install my Nvidia graphics card driver and restart my computer. This happens on every new install. after the restart, it boots up in the black and white screen and asks for Username and password. i enter this in and it says "Welcome to ubuntu 10.04 ect ect..." and im just stuck in this black and white screen and cannot access my desktop after 1st restart.

I assume by nvidia drivers you mean the restricted drivers from nvidia?

If so which version of the driver are you using, have you tried a different version? I believe you can find out which version you have by going to System -> Administration -> Nvidia X Server Settings

What model of graphics card do you have?

my graphics card is a GeForce 6150SE nForce 430. also i currently have no drivers installed for my graphics card cause if i do i wont be able to access the desktop on restart.
