Anyone have a preference when it comes to these? Thought there would be an easy to manage one, but haven't found it yet >_<

Wow! I did not know these existed!

Are there any other game console emulators out there for Linux?

PSX was the only one I couldn't find in the software center besides Saturn and genesis maybe.

I don't really know about emulators too much because I don't have a decent PC controller.

I grew up playing PS1 games with a controller, why would I use a keyboard?

For Playstation, PCSX-Reloaded is by far the best. There is a lucid PPA out there.

same here, snes, n64, gb, psp, ps1/2

but i didnt find using kb difficult at all

anyway you might find good controller for probably $15 or $20 or even adapters for the ones you have

lol dreamcast link

i hope it will run with my half-baked ati open drivers ;/

There are actually controllers that are exact copies of PS controllers, and I even found one that was an exact copy of an snes controller.

I highly recommend pSX as an emulator, as it faithfully recreates the playstation, without further enhancing it. It recreates it so faithfully that when playing games it will sound underrun a lot, this i finally diagnosed as being due to the fact that you need to run it at 480x640 res as this is the native playstation res. Other steps can also be used such as changing to an RT-kernel (not yet to my knowledge available for 10.04 though) or disabling pulseaudio, although to be fair the effects are negligable compared to simply changing screen res. Also for controllers, im using the original playsation controller, and playing via a playsation to usb convertor. Portable playtation netbooking man, its the way ;). Playing wipeout 3 at the mo! Hope this helps peoples. ;)

My first wipeout game was on the PSP (not pulse but the earlier one...ummm I forget what is called) My first console wipeout was Wipeout HD and Fury for the PS3, I tried the older ones, but damn it was just too hard to get into them without the sexiness of HD :(
