It provides a good and prettier replacement of the classic gnome-panel, with useful applets like Clock+Calendar, MeMenu, MusicPlayer, etc

been there, done that. :)

i just use the standard non opengl version now with fully transparent panel & most effects turned off, except zoom, got to have zoom :) . much easier for everyday use.
