View Full Version : [ubuntu] Fresh 10.04 Install

The version before this worked fine. This installs fine and than when it reboots I get this..





Gave up waiting for root device. Common Problems:
- Boot args (cat /proc/cmdline)
- Check rootdelay= (did the system wait long enough?)
- Check root= (did the system wait for the right device?)
- Missing modules (cat /proc/modules; ls /dev
ALERT! /dev/disk/by-uuid/cc712a59-blahblahblah does not exist. Dropping to shell!




I want this installed and I can't figure it out. The last version of ubuntu worked fine for me.

Is The cd you using for installation is original one !!!!!!
if yes then may be it is not compatible with your configuration
if that is compatible then may be that cd is corrupted or some file is missing in that cd

I just typed "exit" and it brought me to the login screen and it's working now, can you explain that one? lol
