Helped a friend build a new machine from parts. Video is a Asus Nvidia GT240 with 1 gig ram driving a 1080 40" TV thru DVI.
The install CD brings up the normal menu, but if I try to install Kubuntu or run live, the screen crashes within 2 or 3 seconds of selecting either menu entry. After some research, I got it to boot with using the "nomodeset" switch. Problem is, the text is so tiny that I can't make out the characters.
How can I lower the resolution to something usable?
