I was wondering how 'grown up' Enlightenment is.
It looks and works absolutely wonderful, but there are a few little glitches here and there, but we've only been using it for a day or two now.
Are there big things to come, is E17 considered useful?

This is more curiosity than anything else, it's not a production machine on which it is installed, but rather on a nice little PIII laptop with 384MB memory [shared with the graphics card] etc.

I must say, E17 screams on that little laptop, and with all those great effects and themes too. It's truly amazing what they have accomplished so far.

e has been "almost done" for years.

It's permanent alpha-ware.

Yea, I've read about it.
But it does have a good few little things that make it a little annoying to use at times [menu's that 'fall' off the right side of the screen for instance], which is a shame.

It'll probably never be production ready, moves to fast, that's a good thing.
Just use it and have fun.

How are updates handled? Just like normal system updates?

It really is great fun to use it.
