i added my username in etc/sudoers but still after rebooting i cannot do a simple su.

Did you type "su" or "sudo -s"? There is a difference.

You are welcome. If you do "sudo -s" in Ubuntu, you can execute commands as root, except stay in your home directory. If you do "su", you will leave your home directory and go to the root directory.
