“Checks indicate that US iPad sales remain strong post-launch, driven by rising consumer visibility to iPad’s user experience, sustained PR/word-of-mouth marketing, 3G iPad launch, and broadening iPad apps/content,” Abramsky wrote in a note to clients this morning. “We believe Apple is now selling >200k iPads/week, greater than US Macs (est. 110k Macs/week) and just below US iPhone 3GS first quart (246k/week).”

I wonder how many are getting returned when users discover that this great web browsing device doesn't even support flash ;-)

hopefully people will just learn how to crack it to put a new OS on it...oh yeah...they have :D
and also, how long is it until someone programmes flash plug-ins for it like gnash?

Yeah, but if they crack it and put a new OS on it, would the OS actually recognize the hardware?
I wouldn't even bother with one anyways, even if I could crack it and put a new OS on it. The hardware is just waaaaaay too weak, and definitely not worth the price for a fancy Etch-a-Sketch.

An iPad is an entertainment device, not a computer intended to do important tasks.
It would be like saying Panasonic sells more microwaves than they do answering machines.

Now does this mean that iPads are awesome, or that Macs are terrible?

iPads are new and macs aren't. Plus they serve different purposes so they're not mutually exclusive. Not really surprising.

Considering those open source flash plugins don't even work on normal PCs yet? A while I'm guessing.

This.
Plus the fact I'm sure a lot of people buying iPads aren't buying Macs because they already own one!
