hello all !
just a simple query but one which i have not been able to answer despite sitting on it for quite some time now.
the " backspace " button on my toshiba A 200 laptop works when i use it to navigate the ubuntu system folders such as documents, movies, music, computer etc ..
however, it doesn't work at all within firefox !
is this normal ? how can i get it to work within firefox so as to be able to make liberal use of the keyboard ?
thanks!

alt and left arrow is the default "Go Back" in Firefox, to make backspace works Open new Firefox page and type about:config .. then find this "browser.backspace_action" without the quotes and change it's value to 0

gosh was it really that simple ! now i know why they say "call the experts".
but tell me why in the first place are such settings different from what is the norm ? is it simply to signal their difference from microsoft ? after all, the same firefox runs in microsoft software as well as in linux ...
thanks !
