View Full Version : [ubuntu] Resolution Problems

Hey, i just downloaded Ubuntu 10.04 and i burned it to a disk, THen i started the cd and choosed to try whitout installing. When i get to the desktop the resolution is 800x600.

And the resolution i'm going to have is 1900x1080... So whats the problem here ??
Please help me!

Hi Marcus.

Which graphics adapter is this Live CD running on? nvidia? ATI? Intel? I think you'll have to install the proprietary drivers in order to get the full resolution.

EDIT: And in order to install the drivers, you'll have to install Ubuntu onto the HDD and then install drivers and I believe you'll be able to get pretty good resolution.

Thansk, I fixed it now. just needed to turn of the monitor on the laptop :P


So i don't think i have to install drivers for my intel celeron.

But i have an other problem when i try wacth a video at youtube i need to install pugin but when i try that, is it still not working...
