I have had an intermittent gnome-do problem for a few months now, recently it got worse. When I start up the system gnome do sometimes does not work. I type "f" "i" "r" "e" etc. to start Firefox but all I see are the letters I type in and not the program logo. The computer becomes non-responsive, the fan works at max. speed. The only way to solve the problem is to restart. When gnome-do works as it should at start up I never get the problem again. Sometimes I have to restart several times so that the problem disappears.
I have tried reinstalling gnome do but it did not help.
I use Ubuntu 9.10.
Any hints on how to solve this irritating problem?
