boot to grub rescue

I have an Asus EEE PC netbook with a dual boot to Windows 7 and Ubuntu. Ubuntu was installed some time ago using wubi. The other day, I attempted to upgrage to the new release of Ubuntu (10.04) using the update manager. On the system restart, I get this:

error: no such device: 5a1a25ca-a4.......
grub rescue>

After searching this and other forums, I've tried several things with no success so far. Any suggestions would be immensely appreciated.
