566 tabs in one window! I decided to make a composite screenshot:

Note that I did not just hold down control-t for a while. These all arose from normal (for me) web-browsing.

At some point I will be writing a (rather critical) essay about how well Firefox reacts under stress.

WOW! How much RAM did it take to do that?

I'm not sure, I didn't check. I've since shaved it down to 558, and RAM usage of Firefox is now 1.3 Gib. (I have plenty of memory left though.)

Firefox's CPU usage was consistently between 40-70% (Core i5 Arrandale, dual-core, hyper-threading enabled, clock range between 1.20 and 2.53 Ghz.) Scrolling through the tab list would invariably drive the CPU usage up higher though. This caused it to become very unresponsive, to the point where I needed a 40-second timer on the screenshot tool just to get the list to the right place each time.

you normally use about 100+ tabs like this?

you normally use about 100+ tabs like this?Normally, I try to keep it under 290. Any higher, and performance starts to suffer noticeably (especially for Flash.)

No, I don't "keep track" of them all-- I normally am only using two or three at a time.

I use mouse gestures on firefox, so I'm always closing tabs.
I couldn't possible keep track of what I'm doing with so many tabs, but still it's interesting. I didn't know the browser could handle so many.

It would be interesting to be that bored.

There's a point where is just becomes a waste. You have the Community Cafe at least twice in there. For me, up to 9ish is ok, anymore and I have to scroll tabs, which I don't like doing.

Nice that your system can take it though :) Push it further :)

595 in one window (604 total.) And counting. No, I will not make another one of those screenshots, that took almost two hours. :)

Firefox is being very slow and laggy at this point (I just typed five whole words without seeing any of them onscreen,) but because of its limited multi-threading support, it is simply not capable of slowing down my system overall.
