system repair cd

Hi
install was fine but it says error and went into live. Anyway now i wonder how i could repair system, bootloader etc. I guess there are such tools bootable from the cd alike opensuse etc?

Also how could i view the boot messages also alike suse(esc key at boot)

For the boot messages, try changing the GRUB boot line, the one that contains "quiet splash", to get rid of "splash".

So the're no system tools in case I cannot reboot anymore, to rescue my installation?
