most likely they are just checking the user-agent string. there are firefox plugins to change that; switch it to an IE user-agent string for that site and no big deal.

I tried something like that with konqueror, it gave me some bug message
Well i got it sorted, downgraded wine a few versions and installed the mighty Internet Explorer :p

just make an effort to not recomend any website that is ie only, eg: don't visit it yourself ever (even a page hit), and don't tell anyone else about it. soon enough things will change.

When I see such web sites, I Help>Report Broken Website in firefox + send webmaster a nice email (templates available from mozilla.org). Does it work? ??????

Because they are idjits?

(As an aside, I've found that Opera set to identify as IE 6 fools about 95% of IE only sites.)
