Hello

I have an eMachines netbook. I used UNetBootin to make a live usb to install unbuntu netbook 10.04. It works while using the usb, but I installed it and it just comes to a black screen with a blinking cursor after the BIOS and I have to power off. I can hold shift after the BIOS and get into grub, but when I try recovery mode it seems to load but then I can't type and have to power off again. I reinstalled it and the same thing happens. I have looked at other solutions to this on here and other websites and none have worked so far. I won't be on again until tomorrow, thanks for any help.

I suggest installing 9.10 or, even better, 9.04.

Awesome, after everything I read, it did seem 10.04 was the only one causing problems. Thank you.

I am a n00b, but Jaunty was really great indeed, for all platforms.
