I just started using empathy...
I noticed that there doesn't seem to be an autoresponder anywhere. I have an away message but it doesn't auto respond to people when I get a message. Additionally, I noticed that new messages are minimized to the indicator applet which causes me to miss many messages....
Another thing I noticed was that empathy cannot connect to AIM. I found this patch: http://developer.pidgin.im/viewmtn/revision/diff/267f28808ab6eeda6b5d68f6433f2b3fcf230d4f/with/0e3079d15adeb12c1e57ceaf5bf037f9b71c8abd/libpurple/protocols/oscar/clientlogin.c but I don't see a clear way to apply it. According to the thread though, this is already applied...
