Hi
I only have two ide devices. As a master I have my dvd drive then my dvd burner as a slave. My motherboard only has one IDE channel. I've checked I've not misplaced the jumper/ incorrectly connected the ide connectors.

I'm having a strange issue. I installed ubuntu without my dvd drive installed since I was using it a different pc which didn't have one.
Now everytime my dvd drive is plugged in it seems ubuntu refuses to load. It would just sit there after I've selected ubuntu from grub2 boot menu.
Ubuntu would load immediately if my dvd drive isn't plugged in why?
