While doing a reinstall of Ubuntu Lucid i forgot to disconnect one of my hard drives, unfortunately i was distracted during the install and find Ubuntu installed onto the wrong drive, wiping the data.

Is there anyway i can recover the data or is it lost, yes is formatted before installing :(

Cheers

wich was the original format? linux disk recoverysoftware... is really good to restore ext2+3 partitions there are other tools depending on the original disk-format (fat32 ntfs hfs(+)...) first of all plug off the disk and put it into a "running" computer... from there you can use a saver way to identify the deleted data to save it elesewhere kind reguards
