Is it safe to leave the updater on?
Because on OpenSuse I couldn't reboot anymore after some trusted updates? That's one reason why i installed 10.04. I'm very pleased with 10.04 so far...install is much better than on OpenSuse

Kernel upgrades are known to cause issues for a few people. If you're perfectly satisfied with Lucid's performance right now you could open Update Manager, click on Settings in the lower left hand corner, and then make sure that only Important Security Updates is checked:

I believe this should be disabled by default and when the user enables it showing a big red bar!
