Hey there everyone, I am trying to streamline the UNR interface on my computer, and am following a couple of these suggestions http://maketecheasier.com/13-ways-to-customize-ubuntu-netbook-remix-for-better-usability/2010/02/07 but got stuck at the beginning because I can't seem to do any editing of the panel. When I right click pretty much all options except "About" are grayed out. I have full administrative permissions (it is my machine lol) so i am stuck. Also, does anyone have suggestions on streamlining and customizing the UNR interface?

it's locked down in 10.04

you can do a normal gnome session & add the netbook parts you want.
or
you can go outside the box & do a custom setup with some lite window manager.

i use openbox + netbook-launcher-efl + xfce4-panel
makes for a very light install.
