View Full Version : [gnome] How to change a Nautilus icon (an Nautilus action)?

Hi there,

I've added a new Nautilus action and I'd like to use another icon that those provided in the nautilus item con list (see attachment).

But whatever image I try (some PNG or even SVG files) I can't get them to be displayed. It seems there is a very special format, size, type to match the Gnome/GTK+/Nautilus icon requirements...

If anyone could provide me some hints to make a proper icon I would be pleased :)

Hi,

I don't know how much this helps. but you can use cover-thumbnailer for nautilus, it's currently at version 0.7.3. you only need to have a picture inside the folder called folder.jpg, folder.png, cover.jpg or cover.png, dimensions don't matter, here's a link to the ppa:
