Hi There
I'm an Ubuntu novice as well as being only vaguely techically able - so the worst kind I'm afraid.
I installed Ubuntu 10.4 on an old Gericom laptop in dual boot fashion alongside Windows 7 32 bit without any problems and was very pleased with the result. I then tried to do the same on my Pc which is running W7 64 bit and found that the display does not fill the screen and I cannot see all the option butons etc.
After a bit of searching on the net I found that there may be problems caused by the Radeon x700 pro (microsoft WDDM) display driver that's installed. In Windows 7 the screen resolution is set to 1280 x 1024.
In terms that a novice like me might understand, can anyone help me solve this problem as otherwise I just wont be able to install Ubuntu on my PC.
Thanks for your patience.
George
