gparted searches for ever

I have some problem, the gparted 'searches' for ever on one disk only, even after 20-30 mins it is not finished and it has to be stopped manually.

Tried the same with debian, which has gparted 0.38, and the all works fine.

Any ideas?

...what actually are you trying to do with gparted, are you trying to partition an hdd for a new install? and that you do not still have any installed 'os' in your box?

Please post the output of the text-mode command "sudo fdisk -lu". Please post it between "
" and "" strings. This will give us an idea of what your partition table looks like.
