View Full Version : [ubuntu] compiz blacklisted please help

I installed compiz from synaptic and set it up but it never worked searching the ubuntu forums i ran compiz in the terminal and it said Blacklisted PCIID '8086:2a02' found and
never worked is there a way i can get around this on lucid lynx i have searched but found nothing that helped.I am very new to ubuntu so a step by step would also help.

Doing SKIP_CHECKS=yes compiz or a text file called compiz-manager line SKIP_CHECKS=yes in the file sudo gedit ~/.config/compiz/compiz-manager doesn't work
I did find this (http://mnshankar.wordpress.com/2010/05/08/ubuntu-10-04-lucid-lynx-on-my-optiplex-gx260/) on compiz and ubuntu lucid i don't know if it will work but i am going to give it a try tomorrow i think.I also found this (http://wiki.compiz.org/Hardware/Blacklist) on the compiz website about lucid.
