I installed "handbrake" (video editor) using the Gdebi. It installed but 's not doing what I want it to do, and it's not on the program list. I checked each program, I know it's not there. Any suggestions on how to uninstall?

use Synaptic Package Manager (in the System/Administration-menu).

The software Center only contains a pre-defined selection of packages, while Synpatic is the full-blown package management tool that lists everything available and all the 3rd-party packages you might have installed.

I think it should show up in Synaptic, can you uninstall from there?
