32 &64 Bit

I would like to install the 64 bit lucid on another partition. I have 32 bit lucid running on 1 partition on the laptop now.

Laptop 1501 inspiron has AMD 64 athlon x2

At the moment I have no splash screen where I can choose memory check or recovery mode.

Question is can I install the 64 bit lucid on another partition and then have the choice of which systems to use.

Absolutely, just don't choose login automatically
