In my haste to install a proprietary wireless driver, I inserted the live CD while Lucid was in the shutting off process. Since then, any boot into Lucid (live CD or installed) gives me a display with a bunch of vertical colored lines.
I can login to the computer, just unable to read anything on the screen. Wireless connection is not working yet but that is another problem.
Computer is a Dell Inspiron 1501 with ATI Radeon Express video driver. Has previously worked with Juanty and Karmic. I have previously seen the lines during bootup but never stayed that way.
I can reformat the HD if needed, just unable to do it in current configuration.
After several reboots this problem went away, will repost if it returns
