Rumor has it for months that Mepis would use Ubuntu for their next release. I guess they are finally going for it. Good for them.

I've never used Mepis and just read the link from OP.
So if Mepis gonna use ubuntu base what will the diffrence be between the two other than Mepis is mainly KDE? Does it include non-gpl stuff?

I’m a little concerned about this. I use Mepis as my default o/s as I find it far superior to Kubuntu for my needs. (Ubuntu is my distro of choice for my laptop)
Still… Warren has not let us down yet so I guess time will tell.
