I was thinking about changing the Desktop computer that I have downstairs to Ubuntu 10.04 LTS (We sadly have Vista Basic)
It's a decent computer.
The only real worry I have is...
Will the router I have connected to it be able used while on Ubuntu. The router is Belkin 54g, I am not sure if it can disconnect the internet for everybody else (couple of laptops).
Anybody know??

Specs..
Dell Inspiron 531s (old version)
1gb ddr2, I think
AMD sempron Processor 3600 2.0ghz
Nvidia card... (NOT SURE)
32 bit.

The router is Belkin 54g

I have a Belkin 54g and I connect Mepis, Ubuntu, Windows 7 & a Wii to it with no problems

The router justs broadcasts the internet. It's up to the individual component to connect to it. I've connected the wii to the internet through the router with no other computers running. The router is independent of an OS

I am running ubuntu now on the computer itself.
It is running awesomely.
Sound works
Ethernet works
Keyboard, Mouse.
The printer.

I probably will install this to the computer.

I just deleted everything and it's installing right now.
Thanks for clearing up the router thing.
So there should be no increase or decrease in internet speed?
(ex 4mb down/2 mb up)
