Trying to install tor. Polipo is being a pain.

I'm trying to install tor. I'm trying to modify the config file in polipo. My system says it's "read-only." It also says, when I try to change the permissions, "you are not the owner, so you cannot change these permissions."

I've tried restarting, with no luck.

I'm very green when it comes to linux. I apologize if the answer is simple and I'm just being a jackass.

You gotta log in as root to do it, or better yet just change it's permissions from the command-line using sudo, ya bollox!
What's so private that you gotta use a proxy network for anyway? Hmmmmmm!?
