the case of the difficult network interface

Hi all.

Have recently installed lucid server, and all was proceeding reasonably well until this morning.

I have lost the ability to access the server via the eth0 interface - fortunately, I have 2 active intefaces connected to the router, so I have an alternative.

Below is the output from ifconfig (MAC Addresses removed)

I can see no difference in the configuration of the two interfaces, and the DHCP from the router still assigns an ip, but the eth0 interface does not respond to internal pings, cannot be used for ssh etc.

any help would be GREATLY appreciated. the only thing I've done this morning to change anything is to add a wakeonlan config script.

yes - it does. And I have also just discovered that cycling the interface (ie. ifdown then ifup) seems to, occasionally, resolve the issue, although it returns on reboot
