well.. it depends what you use it for.. personally i wouldn't go for that one as it has an onboard video card.. it's better to have a dedicated one

I was going to use it for programming, and all the other basic stuff and some light gaming and if I need I will just buy a compact psu and low profile vcard.

At least give them the Canadian Address:
http://www.newegg.ca/

Get the parts you want and probably for cheaper

I bought one from NewEgg for around $1000 about a year ago and it's still super fast.
It is fast, but not the fastest. I would suggest Core2 Quad as it is super fast IMO and not as expensive as I7.
I have a Nvidia 9800 GT and it handles anything I throw at it.
I also have a 28" Hanns-G LCD 1080p monitor which is really nice!
My son plays Crisis, L4D, L4D2, MW2, COD2 and I forget what all and has great FPS.
I could post the "wish list items" as I still have them saved on newegg, if you wish.
It's just the PC, monitor and speakers. And I know it's a year later, but you can still get
as good or better for the same price or less.

Oh, Building eh? Check out Newegg.com (http://Newegg.com) (already mentioned) as well as
Tigerdirect.com (http://Tigerdirect.com)

They both will have the same parts, etc. and you can compare prices.

However, the system I bought from NewEgg could not be built from parts any cheaper than I bought it assembled.
Several of the other purchasers of the same system had priced it out. :P

I am not disputing the fact that normally you can build your own cheaper though.
I believe I just lucked out. I have not had a single problem with it.
I added about 7 24K - 28k RPM fans to cool it off with; some from both websites I mentioned.

The stuff I got is obviously out of stock, but here are basically the same items:

1) Hanns·G HH-281HPB Black 28" 3ms HDMI Widescreen LCD Monitor 400 cd/m2 DC 15000:1(800:1) Built in Speakers - $299.99
I would not go with the speakers though. I would get other ones - they are cheap.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824254043

2) CyberpowerPC Gamer Xtreme 1055 Intel Core i5 750(2.66GHz) 4GB DDR3 1TB NVIDIA GeForce GTS 250 Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit - $899.99
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883229169

3) Cyber Acoustics CA-3602 30 Watts RMS 2.1 Flat Panel Design Speaker System - $39.99
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16836150086
(I don't think you need any more powerful speakers than this, but that up to you.)

That is a even more powerful system than I have and it's around $1200.
I would buy that in a New York minute. My monitor I got on sale and it was a little less but, you are not going to get a better monitor.
And you will hear a lot of opinions about CyberpowerPC, but I have had this one for over a year and no problems.

Like I said I had to buy about 7 fans (including replacing the CPU cooler), but I feel I have a sweet system and this is even better.

This will at least get you thinking. But, this is fairly cheap and pretty nice at the same time.
I would get a login for both NewEgg and TigetDirect ASAP.

Acer, Gateway, E-Machine
These are not known for quality. If you can help it at all, stay for away.
The one I dislike least is the the Intel quad, 8200.

I would go for the quad core, it's more future-proof than older duel core technology. Plus, on Linux Adobe Flash eats up CPU power like nothing you've ever seen before. Sometimes npviewer.bin (the Adobe Flash wrapper) eats up 25% of my Phenom II X4 when watching videos.

Acer builds decent pcs and has a lower return rate than Gateway/E-Machine.I say to NO to E-Machine/Gateway but give an Acer a try .I bought my GF a Acer One netbook and it has NO issues.

Asus notebooks are also good if you are looking for one of those.
My daughter recently got one from newegg and has been very happy with it.
