Let's kill the subsystem which handles the removable media, burn it to a crisp, cut it in half and then kill it again.

Because in the year 2010 one can't easily access the contents of a camera.
("Could not lock the device" error)
And when you have actual work to do and you're dependent on that camera, the situation stinks even more.

Most Removable Media is NTFS or FAT and It will be a problem getting rid of the NTFS/FAT libs if you are still a windows user or have to use Windows on a daily Basis (school).

This has nothing to do with the filesystem of the device.

If you are seeing that error when trying to access pictures on a camera through F-Spot, then try unmounting the camera as a mass storage device first before opening F-Spot.

I had to reboot so I could see the photos in F-Spot.
Browsing it as a mass storage device never works.
