Posting Software (i.e. Craigslist)

Ok i was thinking about starting to develop a simple application to post ads onto specific sites such as craigslist. Basically you would input the desired data and then submit it to a a site. I am NOT trying to develop a spamming program... just a way for someone to post ads online to multiple sites much easier.

1) What suggestions do you have on starting this? (Languages? I was thinking Java)
2) Now i am very familiar with java and java gui however i have only slightly gotten into using java for network use. Any suggestions would be Nice
3) Now if there is some sort of opensource project that fits this bill let me know. (doesn't mean i wont still try)

That is a good question. Thats why i was thinking of not using an auto posting program but instead just a program that would make it easier. Like an ad management system. So in other words you would still have to do the verification your self. But this would just allow u to allow you to submit to multiple CL like sites much quicker.
