Problem with bottom panel on lucid lynx

Hi, i'm having a problem with my bottom panel, after changing from ubuntu 9.10 to ubuntu lucid lynx it does'nt display the programs or folders open on the system, can anyone help me out?

I had the same problem when I accidently deleted the window switcher . . .
