If you had a website running on Ubuntu 8.04 LTS and it needed media support
would you install ffmpeg and additional packages ?

Or move to 10.04 LTS and use libmp3lame0 ?

What are the main differences and risks between the two ?

And is ffmpeg part of medibuntu or ubuntu ? The url http://packages.medibuntu.org/
says its part of medibuntu and it looks like its not supported after hardy.
But in these url's its part of ubuntu and is implemented in lucid:

http://packages.ubuntu.com/hardy/ffmpeg
http://packages.ubuntu.com/lucid/ffmpeg
So if its medibuntu is it supported past hardy and can we legally use it within New Zealand.

Thanks
