hidden install

Hi, I have been using ubuntu on my flash drive since 8.04. And my flash drive just died. Instead of getting a new one is there anyway to have a hidden install with a hidden boot loader or changing grub is some way? thanks

I'm not sure exactly what you want to do. You want to install to your hard drive but require a USB drive to boot? You just need to put your bootloader on the USB drive. I suppose you could put only the /boot folder on the USB drive, but I've never done it. Maybe someone else can give you better advice.

Well if I could put the bootloader on a usb how would my bios recognize it? Sorry this is unknown territory for me. ;)
