Android project (in Eclipse) cannot recognize core java libraries

i have android sdk and eclipse android plugin installed. however (see the snapshot) eclipse cannot recognize core java libraries like java.util.* or @Override annotations. what could be the problem?
note: the very same project of mine works in windows 7.
