Hi,
i've switched over from windows7 and a feature that i really miss is to be able to use the Key Combination of Win(Super)+Arrow Keys to move the windows about.
iE if i did super+Left the window would move to the left side of the screen and super+up maximized it.
im pretty sure that there is some way to mimic this in ubuntu.
im on 10.04 and using gnome+compiz!
all help apreciated
cheers

You might try Compiz and the Grid plugin.. I personally enjoy holding down the Alt key and dragging windows to move them (without needing to grab the title bar). Just another trick.

it would be cool if it could somehow be the actual keyboard shortcuts. i know there is a way to use the compiz edges and assign the action to them but i use the edges to switch screens...
so yeah i really just want to know how to make corresponding keyboard shortcuts ;)
