I have been seeing video of gnome three and decided to install it. Followed all the instructions on my 10.04 lucid install. However when I run gnome-shell-replace it does nothing. The jhbuild thing had a few errors when running, "was I suppose to sudo?" I really want to participate in testing gnome 3? Can someone help me get gnome 3?

gnome-shell --replace

If you compiled it yourself you might need to be in the directory that contains Gnome Shell and run:

./gnome-shell --replace

instead.

I used the repo but then I had to add another repo and do jhbuild because it said it partsdid not exist now all I get from gnome-shell --replaces is an terminal saying [options] what directory would it be in if it was self compiled assuming I just went with the default? I also want to get the buttons back on the left.
