I have been trying to update some packages via Synaptic and have been getting an error with Slocate. The error message I am receiving is:
Removing slocate ...
/usr/sbin/delgroup: `gdm' still has `slocate' as their primary group!
dpkg: error processing slocate (--remove):
subprocess installed post-removal script returned error exit status 7
Errors were encountered while processing:
slocate
E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)
Can someone give me some advice as to how to correct this. I am also getting a lot of error messages at boot up, but let's take one step at a time.
I am not a high end user, so please keep advice on the low tech end!
Thanks for advice
