Lucid, "Low graphics mode" on boot pressing cancel continues the boot.

since i upgraded to 10.04 im getting an error when i boot up that says
running in low graphics mode, then it gives some options.. boot one time, check the logs and try to fix it, etc..

anyway pushing cancel then resets kdm and it boots normally from then on..

this happened before and i think the fix was to remove a space at the top of some file.. i don't remember what one and searching has came up empty..

anyone remember what file i need to edit?

i think it was one of the rc.d files?

something to do with kdm.

i think it had a space at the top or maybe it was a ; in the wrong spot..
