View Full Version : [ubuntu] Locked /home folder after failed update to Lucid

After a powerdown during my upgrade of Ubuntu 9.10 to Ubuntu 10.04 that rendered my operating system useless I can\t get to my /home folder. The /home folder is locked and can not be copied or read. This means I can't reinstall my stuff and keep my files. The rest of my data (except for the /root folder) seams to be unlocked. How can I get to my /home folder? Does anyone know how to unlock it?
Thanks.

It seams my data is encrypted, which is my own fault I guess, but the LiveCD don't seem to offer me to decrypt it. Anyone know of a way to do that?

Since this is not an install issue per se I have started a new thread in the security forum:
